Funny Baby

Sarah's really funny today. She's starting to be really cheeky. She has this mischievious glint in her eyes whenever she's up to something. Take for example during breastfeeding times - She'll pretend to suckle until the milk flow is established. She will then pull away and giggle when the milk squirts onto her face. She'ld eye me when I yell at her to stop and then she would give me this really naughty grin. And then, she would do it all over again.

I started her on Baby Einstein (Baby Mozart) today. She seems to enjoy it. The littlest couch potato ever. Really amusing to watch her as she sits in her little Bumbo gazing at the huge TV screen. Abit disappointed in myself as I had swore previously not to let her watch TV at this age. But I realise that TV time does have its merits as it allows me to catch up on some work when she is occupied/ distracted.

She delights me to no end - earlier this evening as I was reading the papers next to her, she actually fell asleep in her Bumbo. She woke up with a jolt when her head fell forward. It was really funny. Ah, the perks of being a Mummy... =)

What Makes A Mother

M is for the many times, I struggle to keep my cool.
O is for the birthing ordeal, that I had to go through.
T is for the trying moments, when I wish that I could sleep.
H is for the heart and soul, that I suddenly had to give.
E is for the extreme joy, that Sarah has given me.
R is for the reality check of such a responsibility.

For all those who wish to know - yup, motherhood has given me cause to laugh and definitely cause to cry. I never knew the amount of patience that I actually possess until I had Sarah. It is funny how anyone can imagine being ready for a baby; it is impossible to be ready for a baby until you have one. It has been a steep learning curve and I am still constantly learning, every single moment that I spend with my baby. Through her, I have learnt selflessness and unconditional love. It is challenging and trying most of the time - having her has forced me to grow up. Yet strangely, I find myself loving every single moment of it. =)

Flipping

She finally learnt how to flip on the eve of her 4th mth birthday. It's hilarious to see her flip from her back to her tummy, thereafter screaming for attention, asking to be rolled onto her back, when she gets bored of the view from her tummy. Yet, when someone does roll her back, she'll flip back immediately as if it is a reflex. And the cycle continues... =) Really funny.

Sarah Mae -4 months

This picture is taken just before Sarah turned 4 months. How time flies - a while ago, she was tucked up safely in my womb. Now, she's such a vivacious little firecracker. She's really loud - I liken her to some cartoon character that had swallowed a microphone; very much like my sister Sophie. But then again, I know that my baby's very much her Father's daughter, as my husband and my sister share very similar traits - a fact that both would likely be quick to deny. =)

Sarah's a very lovely baby. As long as she's well fed and rested, she'll be up for anything. You can play rough with her and she'll still be bubbling away. I love her to bits. =)

She's down with the cold recently. I really hope she'll get better soon. There's so many things we'ld like to do with her and introducing her to the joys of splashing around in a pool is next. She really loves water. Bath time is always fun for her. She'll be so smiley when she gets to soak in the tub. She enjoys kicking wildly and getting either mummy or daddy wet while she's at it.
